Adaptive Planning / Forecasting & Budgeting Consultant

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Adaptive Planning / Forecasting & Budgeting Consultant with a strong background in Accounting and Finance to support clients in improving their financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar Enterprise Performance Management and Financial Planning tools), combined with a solid understanding of financial operations, management reporting, and business performance analysis.
This role will work closely with finance leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams to design, implement, optimize, and support planning and forecasting solutions that drive informed business decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday Adaptive Planning and related financial planning solutions.
Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable planning and reporting models.
Design and maintain budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting models.
Develop dashboards, management reports, KPIs, and financial analytics to support strategic decision-making.
Facilitate annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and variance analysis processes.
Partner with accounting and finance teams to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Build and maintain integrations between Adaptive Planning and ERP, accounting, payroll, or other source systems.
Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support to ensure successful adoption of planning solutions.
Troubleshoot system issues, recommend enhancements, and implement best practices for financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements as needed.
Stay current with Workday Adaptive Planning product updates and industry best practices.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, accounting, finance transformation, or related disciplines.
Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including model building, reporting, dashboards, sheets, versions, and planning workflows.
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and management accounting principles.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system and process solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and managing multiple priorities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative environment.
What Will Set You Apart:
Workday Adaptive Planning certification or equivalent platform certification.
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday Financials, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
Experience with financial systems integrations, ETL tools, and data management processes.
Knowledge of workforce planning, sales planning, or operational planning models.
Familiarity with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Workday Reporting.
Consulting experience supporting multiple clients, projects, or business units.
CPA, CMA, CFA, or other relevant finance certifications.
Experience in SaaS, technology, professional services, or high-growth organizations.
Understanding of finance transformation, process improvement, and automation initiatives.
