Supply Chain Production Planner
Work Arrangement / Work Shift: Remote / 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM EST / Full - Time
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Chain Production Planner to own demand planning, production planning, and inventory forecasting across all SKUs. In addition to planning responsibilities, this role will act as a key point of contact for vendors, ensuring clear communication, alignment on production timelines, and proactive management of risks and delays. This role sits at the center of planning and execution, requiring strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage timelines and vendor relationships with precision.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Demand Planning & Forecasting
Own and maintain SKU-level demand forecasts across all channels
Analyze historical sales, trends, and growth assumptions to build accurate forecasts
Continuously refine forecasts based on new data, launches, and business inputs
Partner cross-functionally to align on assumptions and demand drivers
Production Planning & Timeline Management
Translate demand forecasts into detailed production plans across all SKUs
Build and maintain rolling 3–6 month production timelines
Ensure all production timelines align with lead times, launch dates, and inventory targets
Proactively track progress against production milestones and flag delays early
Continuously adjust plans based on real-time updates from vendors and operations
Vendor Coordination & Communication (Key Focus)
Serve as a primary point of contact for manufacturing partners on planning-related matters
Communicate forecasts, production plans, and order requirements clearly to vendors
Maintain regular check-ins with vendors to track progress and confirm timelines
Ensure vendors are aligned on priorities, quantities, and delivery expectations
Proactively identify risks, delays, or misalignments and drive resolution
Escalate issues when necessary while maintaining strong vendor relationships
Inventory Management
Set and manage inventory targets (safety stock, reorder points, weeks of supply)
Monitor inventory performance and proactively flag risks (stockouts, excess, slow-moving SKUs)
Optimize inventory levels while balancing cash constraints and service levels
Ensure inventory readiness for launches and key business moments
PO Planning & Coordination
Determine timing and quantities for purchase orders based on forecasts and inventory targets
Work closely with the PO Placement Manager to ensure accurate and timely PO creation
Ensure alignment between production plans, vendor timelines, and PO execution
Data, Reporting & Analysis
Maintain accurate planning models and forecasting tools
Track and report on:
Forecast vs. actual performance
Inventory coverage and risk
Production timelines and delays
Provide clear insights and recommendations to leadership
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with:
Supply Chain Project Manager (execution and logistics)
Finance (cash flow and inventory investment)
Marketing (launch timing and demand drivers)
Ensure strong alignment between planning, vendor execution, and business priorities
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and planning processes
Improve vendor communication rhythms and timeline visibility
Help build scalable systems and tools for planning and production tracking
What You’ll Need:
4–7+ years experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or inventory planning
Experience working directly with manufacturers and vendors
Strong experience managing production timelines and coordinating across partners
Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills (non-negotiable)
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (modeling, forecasting, scenario planning)
Strong analytical, planning, and quantitative reasoning skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
What Will Set You Apart:
Experience in CPG, beauty, or consumer goods
Experience working with international vendors
Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
Understanding of production, lead times, and supply chain constraints
