Accounting & AR Specialist
Work Arrangement / Work Shift: Remote Set-up
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as our new Accounting & AR Specialist. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to key financial processes such as core accounting for month end close and customer collections. The ideal candidate will possess strong finance and accounting skills with a collaborative mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to build their understanding of accounting and operational processes. You'll be working closely with stakeholders across the business and within finance to ensure the best possible information is made available to colleagues and deliver strong, predictable customer collections.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Maintain precise books: Managing AP, employee expenses, and billing transactions, as well as journal entries, reconciliations, and expense analysis provide support across all monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Ensure reporting is updated accurately, ready for review and distribution.
Proactively manage AR collections, follow up on outstanding balances and provide customer service regarding collections issues, onboarding for customer portals and resolving customer disputes.
Collaborate across functions (Sales, Customer Success, Ops) to resolve billing process issues
Keep tools in sync: Work across NetSuite, MAXIO, Yokoy, Stripe, CRM, and other internal platforms
Deliver insightful AR reporting, financial analysis and insight to support decision-making
What You’ll Need:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is essential.
Progress towards completing recognized accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent).
Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)
At least 1-3 years of progressive accounting and B2B collections, ideally in a tech, services or data environment.
Knowledge of invoicing, credit memo, and payment application processes
Familiarity with SaaS billing, recurring revenue, and financial systems.
Proficiency in accounting software e.g., NetSuite (Preferred), QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.

The ideal candidate is a strong English communicator, both written and verbal, who can effectively collaborate across emails, spreadsheets, and virtual meetings. They are proactive, analytical, and well-organized, with a natural ability to solve problems and work collaboratively within a team. The individual demonstrates a strong drive for growth and continuous improvement, with a keen interest in optimizing processes and leveraging automation. Experience supporting or scaling finance functions within a growing tech organization is a plus, particularly for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment. A good sense of humor and positive attitude further contribute to their ability to work well with others.
